Sunday Night News (on Wednesday)

May 22 @ 9:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Breaking news: Kelly Cooper is literally breaking the news in her new solo show Sunday Night News (on Wednesday), premiering Wednesday* May 22nd at 9:30 PM at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective.

In this new narrative play, Kelly Cooper portrays an aspiring local news reporter who’s trying to follow in the footsteps of her mother, a legendary news reporter from the same station. The problem? Kelly’s addiction to power make her pretty bad at her job, leading her to ultimately terrorize the news station, her employees and her future.

Directed by Thomas Frances (Ground Floor Comedy) and featuring Brooklyn alternative comedy regulars Ian Lockwood (Hot Teens) and Caroline Yost (Adult Swim) – plus a cameo from Kelly’s real-life mother who’s an actual retired news reporter, Sunday Night News (on Wednesday) is set to be a solo show that pins legacy against fate, fake news against real news, and powerful ego-driven maniacs against, well, normal nice people.

*But wait…why is it Sunday Night News…on a Wednesday? Kelly has done iterations of the show before on a Sunday, and happened to book a night that was a Wednesday. So she made it harder for herself and kept the original name.
