Porchstomp at the Quincy Atom

June 18 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Tuesday, June 18th

Porchstomp at the Quincy Atom

From traditional folk to old-time, blues, roots, bluegrass and americana – the city’s finest folk artists play on porches, in backyards and inside the homes of city dwellers with country hearts.

Hosted in the beautiful backyard of the Quincy Atom, a house on Quincy Street dedicated to creating community, with events ranging from live music to potlucks to galleries to campfires! Featuring the folk band Doctor Delia, and beautiful songs from Petra Haapamaki and Cait Jones. Come see intimate sets in a neighbor’s backyard, with tunes and stories. BYOB, and relaxed vibes. All proceeds go to the performers!

This showcase was created with artists from Porch Stomp, a folk celebration unlike any other. Set on the beautiful greenery of Governors Island, Porch Stomp invites over 100 bands, artists, or performing arts organizations to utilize the historic porches of Nolan Park as a pulpit for performance and education. By highlighting both traditional and contemporary folk music through unique, often site specific events that range from concerts and workshops to community events and happenings, Porchstomp’s mission is simple: Support New York City Folk! Porch Stomp takes place on Governors Island on June 23th. More info at www.porchstomp.com.
