Mirage Cinema – “The Fifth Element”

After taking attendees back to the ‘70s with cult classic “Dazed and Confused,” for their first ever screening, The Brooklyn Mirage is pleased to announce the return of Mirage Cinema with the 1997 sci-fi blockbuster “The Fifth Element” on Friday, August 17 from 6pm-11pm. Transforming the massive 18,000 square foot courtyard into a cutting edge outdoor theater complete with 360 degree visuals, state-of-the-art sound and a huge screen, the movie night represents the perfect way to kick back with friends on a warm August evening before launching into the weekend with a sci-fi themed, ice cream social dance party.

For the second installment, Mirage Cinema will take viewers on a journey deep into the future. Set mainly in the 23rd century, the iconic film stars Hollywood superstars Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman and Milla Jovovich, with the plot following their effort to save planet Earth from great evil. With doors opening at 6pm, early arrivals can enjoy a pre-film cocktail hour with sweeping sunset views soundtracked by local DJs providing the best and brightest futuristic sounds. Enhancing the evening’s immersive entertainment will be a custom built, interactive photobooth inspired by the film courtesy of OutSnapped that projects GIFs directly to the big screen. For hardcore fans of the cult classic, viewers will be able to test their knowledge of the much-loved flick with some fun-filled film trivia. Afterwards, moviegoers are encouraged to stick around for an ice cream social complemented by 90s, cyberpunk infused tunes. An abundance of food and beverage options will also be available including popcorn, hot dogs, burgers, nachos, cheese and charcuterie, Neapolitan pizza, as well a a full cocktail menu, carafes of wine and specialty frozen drinks.
