Art School: A Cross-Genre, Multi-Disciplinary, Post-Conceptual Comedy Show

April 8 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$8 – $10

Join us for the latest exhibition of Art School: A Cross-Genre, Multi-Disciplinary, Post-Conceptual Comedy Show. Hosted by Tim Barnes (Comedy Central), Jordan Mendoza (Comedy Central), and Joanna Solotaroff (HBO’s 2 Dope Queens, Sooo Many White Guys) and joined by New York’s best, boundary-pushing comedy acts. This month’s guests include: Benito Skinner (Carolines on Broadway), Johnny Butler (Grammy Award Winner), Jamie Graham (Dixon Place) and Dom O Briggs (MSG Poetry Slam).

Just like actual art school, this show is all about experimenting. It’s a highly-curated, comedy journey that incorporates all kinds of creative mediums: stand-up, storytelling, performance art, dance, magic – we’ve even had a fully immersive art installation!

The show will make you say, “Is it comedy though?” and “Oppressive but, like, in the best way” and “Hmm.”

A little more information about our guests for this show:

Benito Skinner: Benito Skinner is a Brooklyn based actor and comedian. His hilariously outrageous sketches have over 50M+ views on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram in the last year alone. Skinner most recently toured his debut live show, “Overcompensating” throughout the US.

Johnny Butler: Johnny Butler is a Grammy-Award winning saxophonist, composer, and recording artist. Over the years, he has performed, written, and recorded with many of his musical heroes, including Beyoncé, Stevie Wonder, and Tune-Yards, among others. The Wire says “Johnny Butler is the real deal – he arranged for Beyoncé, for God’s sake – and is just about the freshest thing you’ll hear all year.”

Dom O Briggs: Dom O Briggs is a musician, comedian and actor from Brooklyn, NY. He has been featured in MSG Network’s Emmy Award Winning “Knicks Poetry Slam” docu-series in Dom O founded his own label, “Squadly Records”. His latest project is remixing some of his favorite childhood show intros called “EaseyToons.” His most popular is the Spider Man theme song (and it’s a banger!).

Jamie Graham: Jamie Graham is a dancer and physical comedienne based in Brooklyn. Jamie is one half of dance theater comedy improv duo The Raving Jaynes and tours at comedy and improv festivals around the world. She recently joined the cast of Third Rail’s immersive dance theater show Then She Fell.
