Eat your fill for zero dollars (but buy a beer) at the Freddy’s Labor Day Bar-B-Q

Bring some meat, it’s welcome here. via Facebook

Look, this Monday’s Labor Day, and we get it; for most people, this means that it’s time to regret that you once again called it the “Summer of YOUR NAME” and didn’t actually go skydiving, learn to play an instrument, or get anywhere near sculpting that beach body. It’s also the time of year when you’re likely to walk into your local pharmacy and see decorations for Halloween and beyond for sale in the seasonal section which goddamnit, already, really? That’s okay, because Freddy’s (627 5th Avenue, South Slope) is here to help, with a free Labor Day BBQ.

Starting at 3pm Monday and going through happy hour (which ends at 7pm), Freddy’s Labor Day Bar-B-Q, will be an orgy of grilled food for all comers. So just double down on not having worked out over the last couple of months and bring something for them to grill up, or you can just show up and eat what they’ve already got, you deadbeat. Yes, the food is FREE, frankly a price that’s difficult to beat unless there’s a bar out there that’ll hand you a burger and three dollars, which we’d be both intrigued and creeped out by.

Anyway, all of their taps will run you $4 while the festivities are going on, which itself is a nice deal, and since it’s the first Monday in September you can just park yourself there and hang out until 9:30pm, when their comedy show (something that also happens on every 3rd Monday of the month), hosted by VH1’s Pat O’Shea will begin.

So try not to sweat that summer’s coming to end, and enjoy yourself some free food and cheap beer. It’s the perfect event for the lazy among us.
