It is an undeniable truth that beer is something to be celebrated, both in party form and in heavy drinking form. And the New York City Brewers Guild, an organization dedicated to supporting and promoting local brewers, will be doing just that this month; they’re hosting a fundraiser for NYC Beer Week in East Williamsburg, and there will be unlimited beer.
The Brewers Guild Block Party will be held at new-ish music venue The Well (272 Meserole Street) on Sunday, August 25, and the bad news is that at $50-a-pop, the tickets are pricey. The good news, though, is that THERE WILL BE SO MUCH BEER. More good news? If you use the code NYCBGBLK by 11pm on Friday, you can get ten dollars off and, doesn’t $40 sound reasonable for all the beer you can drink in three hours? The whole shebang benefits NYC Beer Week and the NYC Brewers Guild, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for small and local breweries around out parts.
Organizers are promising at least 25 different brews, with offerings including City Island Pale Ale, Saratoga Lager and IPA, Lagunitas Little Sumpin’ Wild and Rockaway Brewing ESB and Summer Ale. The beer is all-you-can-drink from 2pm to 5pm with the price of a ticket, plus there’ll be goodies like beer slushies courtesy of Kelvin Natural Slush Co., nail art from Nails & Ales and sodas from GuS Grown Up Soda. Although who’ll have room for soda when there’s sooo much alcohol? While you’re chugging down all that ale, Brooklyn-based band Small Black will serenade you with a DJ set.
It all sounds pretty amazing. Finally, the chance to leave somewhere smelling like a brewery and claim it was all for a good cause.
