Despite the idea that a lot of people love dogs, some people mistreat or abandon them. Those people are dicks, but this weekend, you’ve got a chance to counteract some of that behavior by doing what do you best: Drinking! This Saturday, July 12, Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue is partnering up with the Brooklyn Brewery for a tap takeover and silent auction at Rosamunde Sausage Grill (285 Bedford Ave. in Williamsburg) to save dogs from being put to sleep at pounds in the South and help find them homes up North.
The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday from 6pm to 9pm and will feature six different Brooklyn brews, the entirety of Rosamunde’s deliciously eclectic menu of sausages and sides, and some great goods being auctioned from Galuminumfoil Studios, D Pet Hotel, Main Drag Music, Gimme Coffee and other supporters.
The chance to “save badass dogs from idiot humans” via beer was all we needed to hear, but to make the deal even sweeter, there’s a special for a sausage sandwich (meat or vegan), half pint of Brooklyn Lager and side dish for only $10.
According to Badass, $1 from each beer sold, and all silent auction proceeds will go directly to the organization, a network of volunteers that rescues innocent dogs from “high kill pounds” and provides pups with vaccinations, spaying/neutering services and other preventative care and then transports them to foster and “forever” homes.
As if you’re not already convinced that this is the best fundraising event ever, Rosamunde is also one of the bars we love, so bring your Beer Books if you’ve got ‘em.
