Dream job alert #2: Intern for Bill Clinton

Someone has to get them water, right?

Oh, grow up! Here’s another intriguing gig we stumbled upon: the NYC-based Clinton Global Initiative, an annual confab of the world’s most successful and most powerful people, has internships (here and here) and various real jobs including a social media gig and a marketing-writing position available on its web site. Haven’t heard of Bill’s fledgling little project? In its own words:

The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), established in 2005 by President Bill Clinton, convenes global leaders to devise and implement innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Since 2005, CGI Annual Meetings have brought together more than 100 current and former heads of state; 14 Nobel Peace Prize laureates; and hundreds of leading CEOs, heads of foundations, major philanthropists, directors of the most effective nongovernmental organizations, and prominent members of the media.

The September conference in NYC is invite-only, and basically, if you get invited, you go, which means a crazy mish-mash of big names every year like Muhammad Ali, Queen Noor, Richard Branson, Angelina Jolie, Toni Morrisson, Jerry Yang, Colin Powell, Jim Carrey, and so on. Working for CGI may be your only chance at crashing, but beware that the working conditions sound a tad unglamorous:

  • May require travel, which may require walking distances, lifting, and carrying luggage and boxes, and prolonged periods of sitting in tight quarters
  • Significant computer work, which may require repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands
  • Occasional lifting (> 15 lbs), bending, pulling, collating/filing, and occasional lifting, carrying, and/or moving boxes, files, etc., some of which could be heavy or require the use of carts
  • [Insert bad joke here]

But still, you might get to adjust Don Cheadle’s mic. Good luck, kids.
