In case you’re not a fan of the Shamrock Shake, or you think you’re too cool to look at a calendar like some kind of confident weirdo, you probably didn’t realize that St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner. That’s right, next Tuesday it’ll be time once again to avoid getting pinched by just giving in and wearing green, and it’s also once again time for the Grand Street BID’s 4th annual Saint Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl.
Next Tuesday, March 17th between 5pm and 9pm, you can feel free to leave the flask at home (but bring some money), wear your very best novelty sparkly green top hat purchased at a Rite Aid or something, and get ready to drink a lot for less at a number of bars on Grand Street between Union Avenue and Bushwick Avenues. Participating bars will all be offering some kind of deal to keep the drinks flowing, with the likes of Huckleberry Bar (588 Grand) getting you $4 Guinness tallboys and $4 shots of Jameson, while 4th Down (683 Grand) has $4 pints of Guinness and $4 Fireball shots, if you’re feeling spicy (it’s also in the Beer Book, so you can stick around for another drink after the crowd moves on).
If you thought that these drink purveyors were going to let you starve with nary a food deal, you were dead wrong, and also don’t be so dramatic, because they’ve got you covered there too. Dar 525 (Grand) will get you a free pizza with every beer purchase, and Bushwick Country Club (618 Grand) will be handing out free (that’s $0.00) hot dogs like they grow on really creepy hot dog trees. If you’re still not convinced that this will be a fun time, we can’t help you. But for the rest of you, prepare your plan of attack with the list of participating bars and their addresses, and we’ll see you on Grand Street next Tuesday.
