1. Head to Littlefield to see the world premiere of the Comedy Central web series New Timers, about two friends chilling after the apocalypse. (Friday)

2. CMJ 2014 goes through the weekend and we’ve tracked down some free shows for you. (Friday-Sunday)

3. Proceeds from For Ferguson: A Benefit Performance featuring dance and poetry go to the Michael Brown Memorial Fund. (Friday)

4. Make sure none of the dogs at doggie costume contest the Great PUPkin Festival stole your outfit. (Saturday)

5. You could go to Fall Family Fest to get your photo taken with a scarecrow but let’s be real–it’s the scarecrow who should be excited about a photo with you. (Saturday)

6. Flaunt that one recipe you know well at Java Street Garden Fall Festival‘s potluck and BBQ. (Saturday)

7. Kick off New York Cider Week by learning how hard cider earned its name at Babeland. (Saturday)

8. Audition for Donofrio Dance Company, or dance with them for a day, at their fall workshop in the Gowanus Arts Building. (Saturday)

9. If you dress as a Victorian, a fairy, or a Victorian fairy you get half price admission to this Victorian Fairy Tea Party and lecture. (Saturday)

10. There’s free beer at the Magic Hat IPL Party so put on your fanciest drinking hat. (Saturday)

11. Even if you somehow don’t want another cat, you can buy some cat-inspired art and t-shirts at Meow Day 2, the most compelling sequel we’ve encountered since Sharknado 2. 

12. This Punk Rock Heavy Metal Flea Market might not have the vegan organic alpaca earmuffs we expect from all flea markets, but we guess vinyls and clothing will do. (Sunday)

13. Science has proven if you see the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra in the Brooklyn Museum the classiness will counteract whatever horrendous costumes you wear later that week. (Sunday)
