In the famous words of the internet and some guy on TV, winter is coming. That means it’s time to switch out your closet replacing all those fun summer clothes with parkas and flannel. Instead of banishing your t-shirts to a forgotten corner of your room for the next five months, do some good by bringing them to a clothing swap to support the Red Hook Initiative at The Diamond.
Check out the clothing swap Sunday, October 12 between 2pm and 5pm hosted by the Diamond (43 Franklin Street). A $10 entry fee gives you access to all the trade-able clothes you could ask for along with those warm feeling that come from helping other people. All money made from entry fees will be donated to the Red Hook Initiative, an organization dedicated to supporting and empowering Red Hook kids and teens. Leftover clothes will also be given away to those in need. Improving Brooklyn doesn’t get more fun than this.
You deserve a treat for your good work. The Diamond is offering $4 pints and $5 glasses of wine the first hour of the swap. Make sure you come on out this Sunday for cheap drinks, cool clothes, and community spirit.
