There’s wine for you and treats for Fido at this free National Dog Day reading

Make your dog happy AND cultured by bringing her to a free reading. Photo by David Colon

Does Rover give you sad eyes each time you head out the door? We wish we could take our dogs everywhere too. Show your pooch how much you appreciate her by taking her along to a free reading on National Dog Day, August 26, at the Brooklyn Heights Veterinary Hospital (59 Hicks Street). Your dog will be as excited for this event as she is when she sees her food bowl.

Local author Liz Weber will read from her debut memoir, Memory Card Full. Weber’s book describes the life and death of her dog Rufus, and the lasting impact his companionship made on her life. Even if you, like us, are heartbroken by Rufus’ death, man’s best friend will be sitting right next to you to cheer you up. Veterinarian Dr. Heather Thomson will also be present to answer any questions you have about the new clinic.

What could possibly make hanging out with your furry buddy at a book event even better? Wine of course! Sit back and enjoy a glass while you and your pup socialize with other dog lovers. Snacks, both human and canine, will also be provided. The reading is free and begins at 7pm. Our tails are certainly wagging.
