Can’t grill on your roof? Then go to one of these bar-beques

Don’t have a summer grillmaster? These bars have your back.

So you kept putting off your plans to buy a grill all year, your friends did too, and now you’re stuck with the possibility of not eating any delicious cooked meat (or tempeh, we guess) on Memorial Day. Don’t worry! Or, don’t worry about barbecue situation anyway, because a few Brooklyn bars are firing up their grills and inviting you to chow down for free. The rest of things you need to worry about in life, well, we can’t help you there.

LP ‘n Harmony
683 Grand Street, Williamsburg

Since 2007 Beats & BBQ has been a grassroots event that takes place on all major summer holidays. It is coproduction between Deepdance productions and LP ‘n Harmony to produce community and togetherness, mostly through providing a free plate of barbecue for every drink purchased. Oh, and dancing, can’t forget the dancing.

Soft Spot Bar
128 Bedford Avenue, Williamsburg

The Soft Spot in Williamsburg is celebrating the holiday by opening their doors at noon and starting the grill up at three. There will be food for both carnivores (knish bacon dogs, anyone?) and vegetarians along with acoustic music.

Freddy’s Bar
627 5th Avenue, South Slope

One of the best dive bars in Brooklyn invites you to chow down on what they’ll be grilling up. Or, you can just bring your own damn food and hang out. Either way, there’ll be $2 PBRs and High Lifes, and every beer on tap will be just $4.

Might Get Weird
Secret Location that will be shared when you RSVP

For a ten dollar cover, Might Get Weird will provide nine amazing DJ’s spining from noon to nine, food from Tutu’s PLUS an early bird open bar. What more could you want for Memorial Day?
