This Sunday, celebrities will come together to cry, make political statements, wear sparkly gowns and bestow upon each other tiny golden men. It’s the 89th Academy Awards, and whether or not you’ve seen La La Land or don’t even have the attention span to get through anything but a Disney film, lots of venues are making a night of it across the borough so go out and watch if for nothing but the booze and so you can sound cultured at work in the morning.
Here’s where we’re deciding between to spend our Sunday night.
Oscars with the Oskars at Brooklyn Bazaar
150 Greenpoint Ave., Greenpoint

Doors are at 6 with an open beer bar hosted by Oskars Brewery from 7 to 8pm. It’s free, but you should still RSVP.
Syndicated Bar
40 Bogart St., Bushwick
8:30 to 11:30pm
$10 for a dining room table seat, $15 for a seat in the theater. Or you can go big and get a VIP ticket for $150 (you’ll score chef’s choice of table snacks and a bottle of champagne). If you’re one of the first 40 people to show at the bar you drink free.
the skint screening at Littlefield
622 Degraw St., Gowanus
7pm to midnight

The skint’s party will feature a red carpet, themed drink specials, voting ballots for guessing winners, a photo booth and popcorn. RSVP gets you a free glass of champagne to an already free party. Nice.
Berg’n
899 Bergen St., Crown Heights
Starts at 7pm
FREE
Watch the awards in this great food hall with great board games and pinball to entertain yourself during commercials. Berg’n will be hosting it’s own Oscar partay with drink specials.
Northern Territory
12 Franklin Street, Greenpoint
Starts at 7pm
Admission is free, and the party is being hosted by Taste of Streep, an Instagram dedicated to photoshopping Meryl Streep into various edibles.
