Brooklyn Historical Society is doing Free Fridays

Getting cultured can be expensive. The cost of admission to museums, galleries and cultural centers is enough to send you right back onto your couch with a Netflix special and call it a day. But things are looking up, at least as far as your Brooklyn cultural savvy is concerned: The Brooklyn Historical Society will now offer free after-hours admission on the third Friday of every month—with free beer and wine!

Free Fridays at the Brooklyn Historical Society (128 Pierrepont Street) will run until November, so there are only three chances to take advantage: September 18, October 16 and November 20. On any of those evenings, from 5-9pm, you’ll be able to explore the exhibitions, the galleries and the library, all while taking in some musical entertainment and free libations.

Upcoming exhibitions at the BHS include “Brooklyn Sewers: What’s up Down There” and “Gaining Access: The New York City Disability Rights Movement.”
