Brooklyn Bridge Park concessions go upscale with lobster, Fornino

So we told you back in October that Brooklyn Bridge Park was looking for someone to fill the Smokestack Building with some kind of food vendor. If you put in an RFP and didn’t get picked, don’t be too bummed out, you lost out to a couple of big time foodie joints. This summer, you’ll be able to chow down on lobster rolls (if you can afford it we guess)from Luke’s Lobster, or get a lowly sandwich from sub purveyors No. 7.In even more good news that will destroy that summer body you worked so hard for, ice cream slingers Ample Hills Creamery will be working out of a location in Pier 5, and Fornino will be serving pizzas on Pier 6 out of a space with a rooftop beer garden. Between this, the climbing wall, the soccer fields and the excellent movie selection, we can’t wait for warm weather to come back to Brooklyn. In fact, we’re taking a nap. For three months. Check back with us again in May.

Matt – my understanding is that Fornino will be taking over Bark’s old spot. I called the restaurant last week and the manager said it might not be open until July however!
