• Williamsburg: First up in our weekly Brooklyn apartment roundup is a place that’s actually described as janky in the listing. We dig that word too, but so far, this 3BR fixer-upper for $2,700 doesn’t seem to be getting a lot of bites. What do you think?
“To most people ‘Janky’ means a combination of Junky and Skanky but in this scenario it means ‘Opportunity.’ This is truly a handyman special, and the right 1, 2, or even 3 people can really trick this puppy out.
Located in an amazing old building located between the Lorimer Street JMZ train and the Montrose L train, this floor-through apartment is infused with character and laden interior details just begging to be restored to their former glory.
Original kitchen tile-work and classic appliances, a stained-glass window in the bathroom, nearly-functional fireplace with an original cast-iron cover, the list goes on and on. This place needs work, but the value is there, waiting to be uncovered.
Do you feel up to the challenge? Do you have what it takes? Are you willing to see what you’re made of? Call now and find out…”

• Bed-Stuy: This nice-looking place near the Ralph Ave. subway station in Bed-Stuy appears to be that rare 2BR for $1,400, in that it actually has two full-size bedrooms. (The listing says “a Queen-size bed can fit into either room,” and it doesn’t specify that it has to be standing on its side.) Each bedroom has a closet, and one of them has a walk-in. Plus “nice finishes, hardwood flooring, lots of natural light, a full tub, arecently renovated kitchen with a new tile backsplash and a gas stove.” Playground and park directly across the street, and the subway is within a few minutes walk. We’re ready to roll out the yoga mat (just for a nap) just looking at that afternoon light.

• Clinton Hill: Coming in at $2,900 this is the least expensive 3BR to hit the listings in the past week. It’s got “well-lit bedrooms, an eat-in kitchen, and plenty of closet space.” We detect good vibes as well, but you’ll have to bring your vibe-o-meter to know for sure.

• Windsor Terrace: This one’s a cutie. Why isn’t it gone yet? For $2,400 you get 3 BR, 1.5 baths, a front and back terrace, a decent-looking kitchen washer & dryer in the unit, proximity to the F and G train / Greenwood Cemetery and a small mystery: why are the cat-food dishes on the end table?

• Sunset Park: There’s not too much verbiage about this place, but the price is right for 2BR for $1,700. Plus there are these places nearby.
