Brokerlyn: $900/month for unit with central AC and a skylight & more

$900/month in Crown Heights

There you are, lying on the floor of your apartment in front of a box fan, wondering if this is truly the best Brooklyn can offer in terms of housing. Probably! But there’s a slim chance you can do better for your budget. We found some affordable finds through our listing service and behold, here they are.

________

Posi book vybz
Bushwick
$950/month
Room in a four-bedroom

Not bad, for under $1K. Unit looks spick and span, with some nicely filled bookshelves and two full bathrooms. The kitchen has a tiny sliver of counter space in the photos, fingers crossed there’s more space behind the photographer.

________

An array of opportunities
Crown Heights
$900/month
Room in a four-bedroom

This post has multiple options: the above listed rent for a “smaller room”, or $1,100/month for one of two larger rooms. This unit has a skylight, central AC, a backyard and a basement. Goddamn.

________

Canal livin’
Gowanus
$1,495/month
Studio

For the area, this price is really pretty decent, especially considering the listing asserts the unit is on the Park Slope border. The kitchen is funky, the bathroom seems clean, there’s a brokers fee and laundry in the basement.

________

Seein’ red
Bed-Stuy
$1,450/month
One-bedroom

Nice red cabinets, although they clash with the giant orange wall adjacent to the roof. Unclear what’s going on with all the wires in the bedroom.

________

In some ways, a studio is better than a railroad flat
Prospect Lefferts Gardens
$1,325/month
Studio

A fourth-floor walk up with a very enthusiastic listing description and a sufficiently clean looking bathroom, this unit is well priced for the area. The fridge looks a little lonely in the middle of the room, but the layout otherwise seems decent, and there even appears to be a small lobby-like area next to the front entrance.

________

Times they are a changin’
East Flatbush
$1,350
Studio

Damn, studios are now going for this much in East Flatbush? Anyway, it’s a two room studio with what looks like a recently renovated kitchen, a good amount of closet space and one full bath. It’s also apparently 500 feet from the 2 and 5 trains.

________

Sunlight, you made it in!
Midwood
$1,350/month
One-bedroom

Woah, fish eye broker shots! Cute details in this one, nice hardwood floors and plenty of space, especially for that price. The kitchen is itty bitty and the fridge is in a different part of the apartment.

________

“Hot Apartment!”
Flatbush
$1,395/month
Studio

The photos on this listing are all conveniently labeled with their pictured desirable characteristics. It’s a co-op building, and the unit is pretty damn big for a studio (it even includes a foyer – bougie).
