Be prepared. Saturday night at the Masonic Temple

Werewolf Bar Mitzvah, spooky scary; boys becoming men; men becoming wolves… Ok, even if you don’t get the 30 Rock reference, you know what’s coming up. Halloween in Brooklyn is about zombies, scary drinks and, of course, Halloween event roundups! So, don the costumes, act out your frighteningly-realistic alter-ego and check out these free and mostly cheap parties heading into the weekend.

Scary Story Night at The Nutsackett, Wednesday, Oct. 27
A night of scary stories and cheap drinks with tale-tellers from Jimmy Kimmel, the Moth, the Flea and elsewhere; plus a real, live theramin player. 8 p.m. Free. The Sackett, 661 Sackett St. at Fourth Ave., Park Slope

Halloween at the Flying Saucer, Friday, Oct. 29
The Atlantic Ave. cafe is having a party with food, booze and more. Best costume wins free coffee for a week. 6 p.m. Flying Saucer Cafe, 494 Atlantic Ave., between Third Ave. and Nevins St., Boerum Hill

3rd Ward Halloween Party, Saturday, Oct. 30 (to Oct. 31)
This is 3rd Ward’s all-out, dark and dizzying experience of art, music and performance. Starts at the Brewery, continues at the Furniture Factory, then the Knit Factory, to Omega Plastics and to the street. Strictly 21+. Come in costume for free champagne at the bliss bar. 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. $15 before 9:45 p.m.; $25 after. 260 Meserole St., Bushwick and around the neighborhood.

I’m Off to The Brazen Head for Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 30
Halloween-themed drinks, complimentary sweets & treats plus a $50 bar tab for best costume at midnight. 8 p.m. to the witching hour. The Brazen Head, 228 Atlantic Ave. between Court St. and Boerum Pl., Boerum Hill

The End of the World: Zombie Attack, Saturday, Oct. 30
The world is ending and the zombies are taking over, but luckily there are secret bunkers where the humans can take refuge and dance-party the night away. One is at the Masonic Temple and lasts from “10 p.m. until we all die.” 10 p.m. $10. Masonic Temple, 317 Clermont Ave. at Lafayette Ave., Fort Greene

All Saints Eve: Who Dat Halloween!!!, Sunday, Oct. 31
This Halloween is ALL SAINTS! Watch all the action projected on the big screen at Fort Defiance. Come dressed as your favorite Saint or saint. The night features a special New Orleans menu, spooky cocktails, free snacks at halftime, Abita giveaways all night and DJ Belmondo spinning Saints Hip-Hop and New Orleans music. 7 p.m., kickoff at 8:20. Halloween Fun at Brooklyn Ice House, Sunday, Oct. 31
Pumpkin carving contest (they provide the pumpkin!), an October-fest mug-lifting contest, and costume contest! All have a bar cash prize for first place. 5 p.m. Brooklyn Ice House, 318 Van Brunt St. at Pioneer St., Red Hook

King’s County General Store, Sunday, Oct. 31
The first 50 guests in costume will receive free screen-printed gift totes for collecting sweets, prizes and products from participating local companies. Bring the family! Free gift bags, trick or treating, spooky music and scary movies along with local art, design, food and shops. It’s a Mad, Mad Halloween at Sheep Station, Sunday, Oct. 31
A Mad Men-inspired Halloween party and costume contest to benefit WomenForWomen. The self-explanatory evening will promote women’s empowerment and microfinance in developing countries.
