BK Top 5: The best things to do tonight, from a modern Match Game to Ferrante Fest

See if our local BK celebs can match the style of the original crew

You know, for some reason, they never say “Thank god it’s Tuesday.” Probably in part because T.C.I.T. could just as well be for Thursday, but I figure the fact that it’s not Monday anymore is worth celebrating a little bit. Maybe you agree too, and in that case you should go out and do one of these awesome things going on, as found on the Brokelyn Event Calendar.

SKYE CLEARY ON EXISTENTIALISM AND ROMANTIC LOVE
Just in time for Existential Crisis Tuesday comes an examination by Dr. Skye Cleary of why romance is so damn disappointing. Looking at ideas from the likes of Kierkegaard, Sartre and de Beauvoir, Cleary will help you understand that romantic relationships can’t be all flowers and sunshine, but will be more authentic and meaningful once you accept that.

MATCH GAME ’15 LIVE
Why should only the 60s and 70s and 80s and 90s have The Match Game when the 10s also have celebrities who are standing by to see if everyday schmucks like you and me (otherwise known as “contestants”) have the same fill-in-the-blank answers as them. Tonight’s celebrity panel includes the likes of Levee co-owner Susan Hunt, Gothamist’s Nell Casey and comedian Steve Whalen.

You’ve spent your whole life listening to every rapper from the East Coast to the West Coast and even some from Canada, like Snow and Drake. Put all the bars, hooks, samples and hidden references you’ve spent a lifetime collecting to use, and dominate the other suckers who’d step to the champ of hip-hop knowledge in Brooklyn. That’s you, you’re that champ.

OMG BFF LOL CLUB #8: STATUS PENDING
The boys of OMG BFF LOL Club want to get their names out there and are hoping to impress a big time talent scout from OMG BFF LOL Corporate HQ. To help with that, they’re rolling out names like Wanjiko Eke, Amber Nelson and Tim Dillon. Can they impress the talent scout? Hopefully not, what a shame it’d be if they got too big for Legion Bar.

SLATE PRESENTS: FERRANTE FEST
There’s nothing like a mysterious author from another country who writes captivating novels. If you’re a fan of Elena Ferrante’s stories of female friendship known as the “Neaopolitan Novels,” join a whole slew of Slate staffers like Willa Paskin, Meghan O’Rourke and Katy Waldman to celebrate Ferrante’s newest novel with a discussion, trivia, and debate. After all, it’s not as if the mysterious Ferrante is showing up anytime soon.
