BK Top 5: The best things to do tonight, from being dazed and confused to extreme comedy

All right all right all right, free movies

Welcome to the working week, I know it don’t thrill you, I hope it don’t kill you. Elvis Costello, everybody! Uh, anyway, yeah, it’s Monday and no one’s happy about that. It’s my sincere hope that Monday itself doesn’t kill you, and that nothing else does today. Also that you find some kind of thrill from one of these things to do I found on the Brokelyn Event Calendar.

BOOKS BENEATH THE BRIDGE: BOOKCOURT
Well, here it is, the final Books Beneath the Bridge of the year. It’s sad, but at least the series is ending loudly this year. That’s because tonight’s reader is Mark Dunaway, of Alice Cooper fame, who’ll read from his memoir about life in Cooper’s crazy metal circus. And then after the quiet reading portion of the evening, Dunway’s new band, which also has former members of Blue Oyster Cult, will play a short set. All as the sun goes down behind the city, which is a pretty nice finale we think.
7pm, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 1, Brooklyn Heights, FREE

MONDAY MOVIE NIGHT AT LIVESTREAM: DAZED AND CONFUSED
You’ve already relived the summer camp you wish you went to, so why not spend some time at the iconic high school you probably figure you would have ruled (when really you’d be an anonymous supporting character). Anyway, it’s the classic story of the last day of school, where scores are settled and parties are had, all with the kind of cast that will make you say “Holy shit, they were in this?” for most of the running time.
7pm, Livestream Public, 195 Morgan Avenue, Bushwick, Free with one drink

OSFUG PRESENTS 10 MILLION FPS
Do you think a problem with sketch comedy is that it isn’t IN YOUR FACE or EXTREME enough? Well then OSFUG is the show for you, because it promises to “STREAM THROUGH YOUR EYES AND INTO YOUR MINDS, DESTROYING THEM WITH COMEDIC THOUGHT EXPLOSIONS!” Also it’s got Michael Wolf and Colin O’Brien, who’ve traded in their Triplets of Kings County personas for explosion-fueled ones.
7pm, Videology, 308 Bedford Avenue, Williamsburg, FREE

FRANKLIN PARK READING SERIES: SUMMER FINALE
The Franklin Park Reading Series is also doing their final reading of the season, and they’re having a grand old time with it. They’ve got an author all the way from San Francisco (Joshua Mohr) and three novelists all hopped up on their debut novels (Alexandra Kleeman, Sara Novic and Tracy O’Neill) AND $4 drinks all night. And then you’ll be at Franklin Park anyway, so you can play that basketball game in the back after the readings.
8pm, Franklin Park, 618 St. John’s Place, Crown Heights, FREE

CONEY ISLAND FLICKS ON THE BEACH: MRS. DOUBTFIRE
It’s the classic comedy that could be turned into a classic thriller with just a few small tweaks, in which an estranged father gets back into his children’s lives by dressing up as a kindly old woman and getting a job as their life-changing nanny. Also in a very satisfying turn, Pierce Brosnan is hit in the back of the head with a lime that explodes on impact.
8pm, 1001 Boardwalk West, Coney Island, FREE
