Bibliophiles, the Brooklyn Book Festival returns this Sunday

Hey there, bookworms. If you’re looking to score big this weekend with a sweet new book haul and some literati-themed events, then you’re in luck.

The Brooklyn Book Festival is back this Sunday, September 16. What is the festival? It’s a huge, free festival centered around books. The fest takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m at Borough Hall and other surrounding areas, including Columbus Park.

Besides books, you can expect fun and inspiring events, bookstore parties, readings, and appearances by notable authors. Some featured authors include Jennifer Egan, Martin Amis, Amber Tamblyn, Alexander Chee, and more. You can find more than 300 authors plus 250 booksellers at the outdoor marketplace. And, if you have some kids in tow (or are babysitting some cool sprogs), check out the Children’s Day on Saturday, September 15.

In short, there’s going to be a lot of new titles and stories to fall in love with. Get a full list of free programming here. Access to programming and events is on a first come, first served basis.

Catch us at the festival this year – you’ll find us buying more books than we can carry home. But that’s what cab shares are for, right?
