Good Co.
10 Hope St. (Roebling & Havemeyer)
Williamsburg
(718) 218-7191
What is it: A spacious and steadfastly friendly beacon of good times, among a sea of flash-in-the-pan and otherwise forgettable Williamsburg bars.
Why we love it: The simple design – long wooden tables, towering ceilings, and front booths lined with weathered pillars – brings cozy lodge appeal without being overwrought. Drinks come to you quick and tasty, including unique beer-and-shot combos, and they boast a crew of regulars so loyal that it won’t take long for you to be greeting them by first name when you first walk in.
Who to bring: Your sports-loving pals for weeknight football, baseball and basketball games; your dance-party posse on weekend nights. During warmer months, the backyard makes daytime drinking extra appealing with cornhole games and a BBQ truck.
Fun Fact: Don’t be surprised if you see this bar making an appearance on a certain popular premium cable television show this season.

This bar is a lot of fun (can never go wrong with cornhole), but friendly? Not so much. Both times I have been there the bartender I have interacted with has been surly, inattentive, and seemingly pissed to having to pour someone a drink. The only time I have experienced such unfriendly bartenders is at Blue and Gold in the east villiage.
