This is the eighth in our series on the venues featured in the second Brooklyn Beer Book. This week we’re highlighting a returning favorite, The Brazen Head, where craft beers and cask brews get their due.
228 Atlantic Ave. between Court Street & Boerum Place, Cobble Hill
What it is: Locals’ pub with a craft beer fetishism over 15 rotating taps and two casks.
Why we love it: Knowledgeable bartenders who won’t judge you if you decide to order a $2 PBR. Their station during Atlantic Antic is always one of the best too.
Who to bring: Beer junkies; dart champions; anyone you actually want to a have a conversation with instead of being drowned out by drunkards.
What to order: Try one of the cask beers or ask the bartender for a recommendation from the drafts. The bar typically keeps at least one beer at the $4 level, usually Checker Cab or Yuengling.
Brazen Head fun fact: Free food galore: bagels on Sundays, wings on Mondays and a cheese plate on Thursdays. Plus, regular events include the tri-annual cask festivals featuring 25 cask beers and Brewery Nights. The next one is tonight featuring $5 pints of Blue Point.
