August 7: Free day at garden, zoo, museums

Pack up the kids, call your friends in from the suburbs and start massaging your brain so it’s ready to soak in some juicy local culture: on Aug. 7, you get free access to Brooklyn’s six big culture institutions all day long. Heart of Brooklyn’s Free Summer Sunday provides free entry to Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Brooklyn Museum, the Prospect Park Zoo, the Prospect Park carousel and a special exhibit at the Brooklyn Public Library. Plus, free Brooklyn Icons mini golf at Grand Army Plaza, prizes, raffles and more. And Brokelyn is proud to be a web partner for the event!

The full calendar of events includes zookeeper talks, nature crafts, bird walks, an ice-cream sampling and more free programs. The free admission lasts all day long and is rain or shine, so don’t miss this chance to see what the real heart of Brooklyn is all about.
