Clinton Hill is the Brooklyn neighborhood the New York Times thinks is interesting enough (read: yuppie foodie stuff but also regular iPhone muggings) to be subject matter for its first community-sourced local blog. Along with neighboring Fort Greene, Bed-Stuy and Prospect Heights, Clinton Hill is at the heart of Brooklyn’s gentrification wave. Although somewhat remotely accessible by only the G and C lines (and buses), the historic character of brownstone-mansion and carriage-house lined streets has attracted Manhattan ex-pats seeking affordable diy fixer-uppers and Pratt has spurred retail and residential development and attracted a young and artistic community. But rental prices remain reasonable. In today’s awesome rental deals roundup we’ve got some bargains in this already hip and still rising neighborhood. But jump on these steals now; with the Barclays Center right there, expect rent to rise faster than scalper prices on Justin Bieber tickets.
• This 3BR for $2200/month has a newly renovated kitchen, lots of natural light and closet space and a very “mod” looking bathroom. The broker doesn’t list the address or cross streets, so it may technically be in Bed-Stuy, but aren’t they calling the blurry border area Bedford Hill now?

• Ignore the crappy picture quality and focus on the decorating potential! For $2150/month, this 3BR features real hardwood floors (not that crappy snap in place “wood” paneling you see everywhere these days), exposed brick throughout and original prewar tin-tiled ceilings. Apparently the broker is confused about the location of this one too. It’s either in Fort Greene or Clinton Hill but definitely worth a look at that price.

• At $1800/month this 1BR garden apartment is perfect for a couple with a green thumb. This place looks spacious and bright and has a cool old fireplace and exposed brick. But is it just me or is that BQE signs I see just over the fence?? Also this may not be the ideal space for people who enjoy cooking as the “kitchen” looks somewhat questionable.

• Foodie couples might prefer this 1BR for $1700/month with a full kitchen featuring cutout picture window to the diningroom/living area. The third floor walkup unit also has laundry in the building AND you’ll still have outdoor space with shared access to the roof.

• Not promoting or suggesting these are broke-friendly or even real, but the stock photos for the brand new building at 105 Grand Ave. are giving us an apartment envy boner. With 1 Bedrooms starting at $2075/month, with LOTS of amenities, it’s at least worth a call to see if this place is for real.

Would love for you to do this with other buildings that actually have address attached. These days brokers always says it's in Clinton Hill but last week one walked my girlfriend and I all the way under the BQE and almost onto FLushing Ave. I was like "R U drunk?" I don't work at Steiner M-F'in studio!
