Looking to grab a New York slice on a Brokelyn budget? You’re in luck! Slice Out Hunger is hosting their eighth annual Dollar Pizza Party on Wednesday, October 5, where for only a buck you and your friends/family/Tinder dates/strangers you met on the subway can skip counting calories and indulge in a gooey slice or two, or 10.

The event is in Manhattan, but it’s well worth the price and the pizza. Plus, it’s for a good cause.

Slice Out Hunger is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization in New York that believes in using the superpowers of pizza for good by using it to raise money to fight hunger around the country. What started off as a glorified $1/slice pizza party eight years ago has turned into the pizza equivalent of Comic Con, featuring your favorite slices from over 50 ‘za establishments in NYC and totaling up to (currently listed) 1,500 pizzas.

You read that correctly. 1,500 pizzas will be in attendance, along with  donated desserts, drinks, Brewla Bars, and raffle prizes galore!

Tickets are first in line, first to get in. You can buy them at the door, or skip the line with a VIPizza Passport for $100, which you can purchase here. VIP status gets you past the line, and you and a guest receive 10 tickets to start your saucy evening off right. (If $100 is a little steep, don’t worry. There will be contests held throughout the night for appropriate cutting opportunities!

With large turnout expected, Slice Out Hunger aims to provide pizza fun for as many party people as possible. Here are some helpful hints for a fun filled evening of stuffing face:

– This event is CASH ONLY, so be sure to hit the ATM before getting in line.

– It’s one slice: per person: per pizzeria, so be sure to get in line earlier than later for a better chance of grabbing a slice from your favorite spot.

– Purchase as many tickets as your think you’ll need upon entering, (RED for Pizza/BLUE for Other) because once you’re in, you’re in.

– Once you’re out, you’ll have to head toward the back of the line if you want to get in again. No one likes a pizza cutter.

The party only goes until the pizza runs dry, but if you’re worried about being stuck with extra red tickets once the pizza’s gone, we’re told you can use those toward the raffles and other goodies.

For meat lovers, cheese lovers, vegans, and gluten free-ers of all ages, the time has come to join hands again in pizza bliss for an amazing cause. Pizza don’t discriminate. Maybe this will even change my mind about thin-crust pizza once and for all? We’ll see. I do like to get down and cheesy with DiFara’s, myself.

Slice Out Hunger’s $1 Slice Night takes place Wednesday, October 5 from 6-8:30pm (or for as long as the pizza lasts) at St. Anthony’s Church, 155 Sullivan St. (at Houston) in Manhattan. For more information, check out sliceouthunger.org  and follow @SliceOutHunger on Twitter and Instagram!
