Unleash your pet peeves at the Tea Lounge tonight

What's your Pet Peeve

It’s a new month and a new Tuesday which means the folks at the Tea Lounge are back with another month of free events to make your early mid week less boring. November’s series starts tonight with an evening of improv featuring players from the PIT, UCB, Gotham City Improv, The Magnet and Second City, plus a Pet Peeve Forum where you can an open mic and five minutes to vent about whatever is on your mind (which in Park Slope is likely pro- or anti-baby issues). And then next week: a skillshare class on crocheting winter accessories! And more! Check the full schedule below:

Nov. 1 – The Laugh Lounge – 8pm

See some of NYC’s finest improvisors together under one roof on the first Tuesday of every month! Featured guests will include players from the PIT, UCB, Gotham City Improv, The Magnet and Chicago’s Second City. They’re bringing Improv comedy to Brooklyn on an evening not to be missed!

Have a gripe to get off your chest? Join in on the Laugh Lounge’s mid-show “Pet Peeve Forum,” which will offer a mic and 5 minutes for you to tell us what gets your goat: The Park Slope parking sitch? Cost of rent? Your neighbor’s yappy dog? Spill your guts to fellow Brooklynites – it’s therapeutic!

Nov. 8 – Brooklyn Skillshare Presents: Crocheting Winter Accessories 101 – 7:30pm

Winter is fast approaching! Join us for a lesson on how to crochet a cowl, infinity and fingerless gloves that are easy enough to finish off alone. Participants are encouraged to bring their own crochet hooks, yarn, and tapestry needles (small amount will be provided for in-class use).

Nov. 15 — I Like You, Maude: StorySLAM with Featured Guest Storyteller Dana Rossi – 7:30pm

I Like You, Maude is akin to other storySLAMS in NYC. Anyone can tell a story on any topic. Just show up, put your name in the hat, and if picked you have five minutes to regale the audience with your tale. The stories must be TRUE and told WITHOUT notes or paper. For having the plums to bare your soul to an audience, every storyteller wins a prize! This month’s guest storyteller is Dana Rossi (The Soundtrack Series, music nerd). Hosted by Kerri Doherty (F’d in Park Slope).

Nov. 22 — Fresh Start Comedy – 9:00pm

Want to hit the reset button on your week? Laugh your indiscretions away at Fresh Start Comedy on the last Tuesday of every month. Featuring the best stand-ups in Park Slope, New York City and the country, Fresh Start encourages comedians to lay it all on the line… because if things go wrong, we give them — you guessed it — a fresh start. Hosts Mike Pomranz (blogger, Tosh.0) and Joe Zimmerman (The Beards of Comedy Tour) promise things will be better than before. Remember, this is the first show of the rest of your life. Fresh Start comedy has featured comics from Dave Letterman, Comedy Central and VH1.

Tea Lounge, 837 Union St., Park Slope.
