4. While away a whimsical night at Wes Anderson Bingo, tonight focusing on The Royal Tennenbaums. (Friday, Videology, $16)

5. Make sure you go-go to Faith, Freedom and Sex: A Celebration of George Michael, a celebration his legacy with Brian Blackout of Feeling Gloomy and Stephen Pitalo of Music Video Time Machine. (Friday, Littlefield, $5)

6. Shock your system into the new year at the Polar Bear Club’s annual Coney Island Polar Plunge, then head to Magic at Coney to warm up. (Sunday, Coney Island, FREE / $40 suggested donation to Camp Sunshine). The Wonder Wheel and other rides will be open on New Year’s Day too  from 11am-2pm)

7. Start the year off right at New Day Party, a daytime jam with detox elixirs, massage stations, aromatherapy, deep house yoga, live music, and more. (Sunday, House of Yes, $15)

8. Ease into 2017 at Hangover Brunch, with food by the Meat Hook, drink specials, football on a big screen, and live tunes from the Bluegrass Book Club. (Sunday, Threes Brewing, FREE)

9. Class it up at The Lot Radio’s New Year’s Concert, featuring collaborative pianist Eduard Laurel and classical violinist-turned-electronic producer Kamron Saniee. (Sunday, The Mission, $10)

10. Do the musicking yourself at the Cortelyou Jazz Jam, or just get up and boogie while others play. (Sunday, Bar Chord, FREE)
