This weekend: Brooklyn Based birthday bash, crawfish boil, Fifth Ave. street fair

12pm-closing:
The Coney Island Cyclone opens daily for the season starting today! $8 for the first ride, $5 for additional rides.

7-10pm: Peep show dancers, performance artists, bands, more at the Fancy Sexy Me jewelry line launch party and runway show. Giveaways, free Sailor Jerry Rum + Colt 45 all night! Shag Brooklyn, free. After party at K+M.

SATURDAY
12-8pm:
20 bars, shops and restaurants along Greenpoint’s Franklin Street offer serious deals (and free 1/2 pints of Brooklyn Brew along the way) at the Total Franklin Street Immersion event. Bonus: celebrate Brooklyn Based’s 3-year anniversary 6-8pm at t.b.d. with a bbq, $3 Brooklyn Summer Ale pints and free Robicelli’s cupcakes.

2-7pm: Brooklyn Brainery kicks off the semester with a good ol’ fashioned crawfish boil and barbecue at LaunchPad (Crown Heights). All proceeds go towards helping find a permanent home for the Brainery. $5 or a dish to share gets you in. BYOB.

8pm: The String Orchestra of Brooklyn teams up with the blow-hards of Hellgate Harmonie for a concert of classical variations. Wine reception to follow. St. Ann + the Holy Trinity Church. $10.

SUNDAY
10am-7pm:
The 5th Ave street fair takes over 20 blocks of Park Slope with booze, food, vendors, bands, a bike jumble/flea market, Southpaw’s punk + underground record fair, more!

9pm: There’s a Lindsey Buckingham Appreciation Society, and they’re going to play Fleetwood Mac’s 75-minute double album Tusk in it’s entirety at Union Hall, $12.
