7:30pm: The Swell Season (you remember them from Once) bring their folk-rock stylings to Prospect Park’s Bandshell, $3 sugg donation.

8pm (thru sun): BAM and Rooftop Films present the “Animation Block Party,” showcasing foreign and domestic independent, professional, student animation and shorts. Bonus: after party at Bar Matchless with free beer + rum! 50 Beford Ave. $9-11.

SATURDAY
12-7pm: 30+ shops, restaurants and bars teaming up to offer in-store deals for Last Saturdays in Greenpoint.

7pm: Iconic New York rockers Sonic Youth get all loud ‘n stuff at Prospect Park Bandshell. Arrive early! $3 sugg donation.

8pm: Documentary Disco and Atomic War recounts how people living in Soviet Estonia in the ’80s managed to hijack Finnish television signals in order to watch Dallas, MacGyver and Knight Rider, realizing that life in The West wasn’t as bad as they’d been told. The roof of the Old American Can Factory, $10. Reception in courtyard (free booze?).

11:30: The circus meets dark cabaret with a steampunk twist at Gemini & Scorpio’s Lost Circus. Littlefield, $15 w/rsvp, $20 w/out.

SUNDAY
6pm: Jelly NYC brings the party to Brooklyn Bowl with Ted Leo + The Pharmacists, Darlings and Arpline. Free.

7:30pm: Eugene Mirman celebrates 4 years of Tearing the Veil of Maya with guests Leo Allen, Todd Barry, Wyatt Cenac, Ad Miles, Kristen Schaal, more! Bell House, $10.
