You there, sadly looking out at window at the piles of slush and ice you were gingerly walking over today, stop doing that this instant. Instead, start cutting up pairs of jorts, get your Latrell Sprewell jersey out of the back of the closet and start thinking about how you’re going to complain about how hot it is in a couple months, because we bring you another herald of summer today. The Northside Festival just announced their headlining bands, and they somehow managed to get all of your favorites, like Run the Jewels, Built to Spill, Neko Case, Against Me! and Best Coast. Run ‘em

UPDATE 2: Brucie’s emailed us again to let us know that the dinner is being moved to mid-May in order to take advantage of the backyard and provide more of a party atmosphere.

UPDATE: Zhara emailed us to tell us that conflicting schedules has forced the menu back until March 20, instead of March 6.

If you are anything like us, which we imagine you must be a little bit because here are reading this website, you’ve been listening to a lot of Run the Jewels lately, whether their first album or new (and FREE) second album. You might be listening to these albums and thinking, “Man, I wanna tell these dudes they spit hot, life-changing fire,” and aren’t you lucky, because you can meet them at Rough Trade Records (64 North 9th Street) on Wednesday, October 29 at a free meet-and-greet. That’s not even the best news though, because the best news is that if you get there early enough, you can see The Warriors with these dudes after the meet. (more…)
