UPDATE 2: Brucie’s emailed us again to let us know that the dinner is being moved to mid-May in order to take advantage of the backyard and provide more of a party atmosphere.
UPDATE: Zhara emailed us to tell us that conflicting schedules has forced the menu back until March 20, instead of March 6.

Brooklyn had kind of a sad music year. Both Death By Audio and Glasslands closed, victims of a Vice landgrab. Catey Shaw released that “Brooklyn Girls” song. Coming off a year in which we listened to too much Haim, you’d be forgiven for thinking Brooklyn’s music scene was devolving into madness and despair. But most of the albums that came out this year were actually pretty great! So instead of wallowing in what will forever be known as “stupid garbage year,” we decided to celebrate the positive with a list of the best albums by Brooklyn artists in 2014. (more…)

If you are anything like us, which we imagine you must be a little bit because here are reading this website, you’ve been listening to a lot of Run the Jewels lately, whether their first album or new (and FREE) second album. You might be listening to these albums and thinking, “Man, I wanna tell these dudes they spit hot, life-changing fire,” and aren’t you lucky, because you can meet them at Rough Trade Records (64 North 9th Street) on Wednesday, October 29 at a free meet-and-greet.
