The dead of winter isn’t exactly a time when you’re looking to take your shirt off in public, but that’s all the more reason to get in on everyone’s favorite deal: Friday the 13th tattoos.
Yep, the best sale in Brooklyn is back, and covering up your ink now means it’s far less likely to peel and scab in the hot sun as it heals. By the time you unveil it to friends during beach season it’ll be as black as the heart of our presidential administration!
Also, not to alarm you or anything, but there are only two Fridays that are also the 13th in 2017. Will you even be alive by the second one? Who knows! Hashtag Trump’s America. Hashtag ink again. So go to any of these fine tattoo parlors to get yourself some ink for $13 plus a lucky $7 tip (unless otherwise noted). (more…)
There’s a universe of options for $31 tattoos at Big Bang Ink, and other tattoo shops this Halloween
Halloween is right around the corner and here in Brooklyn you can celebrate it right many different ways. In addition to all the parties happening, five awesome tattoo shops are treating you to something that will last forever (unlike your Halloween candy), $31 tattoos. So grab your $31, and the nearest (dare)devil and go get inked! (more…)
If you’re lucky enough to have escaped the dreaded wintertime move, now is a great time to call it quits on the old place and sign a lease on a new one. The weather’s warmer, the days are longer and house-party season is heating up. Perfect time to warm a new house—if you’re a trained party host like some of our own, that is. This week’s apartments feature barf-friendly hardwood, cocktail-worthy kitchens and architecture that just screams “Let’s go to my bedroom and make out!” (more…)
Ooh, you can get a zombie Jake the Dog at Body Art and Soul
“Friday the 13th tattoos?” you’re saying to yourself as you stare at the screen. “Didn’t we just have a Friday the 13th?” Yes, we did, but thanks to the vagaries of the calendar, we’ve got yet another one this week, which means if you missed out on a chance for a cheap goofy tattoo in February, you can get one this Friday. Or if you got one of those $13 tattoos, you can just get another one. After all, it’s Friday, there are plenty of tattoo parlors offering up cheap ink, and this is the last Friday the 13th until November, so get crazy. (more…)

Adam Sandler, a Midwood bingo hall operator who thought he could play big daddy is finding out that he might not be bulletproof after all, with the Brooklyn D.A. accusing him and a gang of grown ups of reigning over a $4 million gambling ring that was run out of the Nostrand Bingo Hall according to DNA Info. With the warm weather transitioning into lower digits outside volleyball at Pier 5 won’t be a copacetic way to keep yourself moving and fit. Colder weather might make you want to hibernate and accumulate a nice layer of fat under our sweatpants and black slacks, but you can combat this by keeping a smidge in shape with some of Brooklyn’s most wallet-friendly indoor options. Depending on the class, trade in your Lulemon see-through yoga pants for some respectable workout or dance gear. Now repeat after us “jeggings are not work-out clothes.” (more…)
Summer is (sob) ending, which also means the end of free outdoor movies (except you, Habana Outpost, we see you). If summer those series have to end though, they may as well go out with a bang, at least that’s what carribBEING seems to think, because they’re ending their summer movie season with a double feature. Not only do you get Idris Elba playing Nelson Mandela in Mandela: A Long Walk to Freedom, but before that, they’ll also show Project 2×1, a documentary about Crown Heights’ West Indian and Hasidic communities. All for free! All for you! Well, and the other people who show up. (more…)

Don’t look now, but Friday the 13th is fast approaching once again. Some folks may like to mark the occasion by sitting back and watching Jason Takes Manhattan for the umpteenth time, while others might dive under their beds at midnight, crippled with fear for the ensuing 24 hours. For those of us who are not stricken with triskaidekaphobia, and are not crazy about the eighth, not-very-good installment of an 80s horror franchise, how’s about a sweet tattoo deal? If you’ve finally decided to get that flaming bag of poop, UFO, or shattered mirror, but were waiting for the price to be just right, check out these eight spots for $13 Friday the 13th tattoo specials. This will be the very last Friday the 13th of 2014, so why risk living out the next several months in regret? (more…)
They’re coming, the question is, can you afford to see them?
Everyone excited about summer movies? By “excited” of course, we mean it in the way that one feels dread before they bungee jump, as you weigh FOMO against taking out a mortgage to see a movie against the odds you get busted just downloading the damn thing. Well, if you get this here deal for a pair of movie tickets for just $9 at Midwood’s Kent Theatre (1170 Coney Island Avenue), you can see a movie and actually relax, instead of worrying about how buying tickets will affect your credit score.
