Molasses Books (770 Hart Street, Bushwick) is a unique used bookstore that also serves as a bar and café–and happens to be one of the many awesome venues featured in the Brooklyn Wine Book. With frequent readings, book launches, DJs and other events, the vibe changes nightly, but the small space ensures an intimate shared experience.
Owner Matthew Winn can often be found tending the bar where you can exchange books for a tab. While the wine list is small, the pours are generous with prices befit a starving writer. Sip a chilled white while browsing the Critical Theory section or pair a Malbec with some Baudelaire poetry. Be sure to show your Brooklyn Wine Book to get two glasses for the price of one and really make a night of it.
