Your wish is our command. The raffle prizes are rolling in, and we’re starting off with one of our biggies—a combo prize at that: a one-night staycay in bucolic (and hipper-by-the-day) Ditmas Park. The main attraction is a night at Rugby Gardens bed and breakfast, one of the swankiest of the “swank Victorian B&Bs” requested of us, and a place you won’t want to leave… except maybe to sample some of the fares on nearby Cortelyou Road. Which brings us to the rest of the DP combo.
We’d hate for you to go hungry just steps from the “dining destination” that is Cortelyou, so we’ve lined up a gift certificate for the fine foods of Market. The little brother to Mimi’s Hummus (and big brother to the Castello Plan) has all you’ll need to bring a picnic back to the gardens. And to wash it down? That’s a surprise for now, but we won’t leave you dry.
And finally, once you’ve returned to the real world, Rugby Gardens’ innkeeper (and interior designer!) Sue Anne will help cushion the blow with a one-hour design consult on your own place—so maybe you won’t need to staycate so badly next year.
We’re far from done, folks. We’ve got plenty of prizes already in the coffer, but there’s always time for more. What else do you want for our birthday?
The First Annual Brokelyn Charity Ball will be held June 10 from 7 to 11 at at Night Owl in Williamsburg, 160 N. 4th St. at Bedford Ave.
