Think “comfort food” in Brooklyn, and the words “Buttermilk Channel” should be on the tip of your tongue. There are a number of restaurants around that try to get Southern right… and then there’s this Carroll Gardens spot where the pork chops are fried, the waffles come with cheddar and a $50 gift certificate will get you plenty full. A place that we love for oh-so-many reasons, Buttermilk Channel’s homey, yet classy menu and laid-back vibe make it what the RAFFLE OF THE CENTURY is all about: pure indulgence.

What’s $50 at Buttermilk Channel worth? Maybe a nice brunch for a couple friends (including pecan pie French toast and your choice of alcoholic beverage); or perhaps—and this one works out perfectly—the Monday night $25 3-course special for you and someone special: soup or salad, entrée (buttermilk fried chicken, anyone?) and dessert.

And, just to name-drop a couple more mouth-watering possibilities, go ahead and throw in a fresh, warm buttermilk biscuit or the infamous duck meatloaf. And on Fridays, they serve up Red Hook Lobster Pound, so if you don’t win that item, there’s still hope.

The First Annual Brokelyn Charity Ball will be held June 10 from 7 to 11 at at Night Owl in Williamsburg, 160 N. 4th St. at Bedford Ave. Coming? Let us know by RSVPing in the Facebook page, where you can also see all the other fine prizes.
