Michelin’s picks for Brooklyn’s best $40 and under restaurants

Appearing to be fancier than you really are is an important trick in life, especially when you’re trying to impress a date or a business associate or a parole officer. Don’t bother by trying to do it by putting on a suit, instead head to one of these restaurants that were given a Bib Gourmand rating for 2015 by Michelin. It’s not an official Michelin star, but it does mean Michelin inspectors determined you could get two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less. There are 36 such places to choose from in Brooklyn, and the person you’re trying to impress will probably stop listening after you mumble something about “Michelin approved,” because people just don’t listen these days.
