We crush hard on the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls, the Clinton-Hill-based program where girls kickstart an awesome band and get to play a marquee Brooklyn venue like Music Hall of Williamsburg. Usually it’s for girls ages 8-18, but this summer there’s a Ladies Rock camp, a three-day “grown-up” version featuring lessons, songwriting, band practice and workshops for all skill levels. Sliding scale tuition can run up to $425, but the good folks at BrooklynVegan have a chance for you to go for free! As long as you’re older than 19, you can win an August camp tuition.
