Is Barack Obama secretly a hipster?

by | 2.29.12 | 2 Comments

Orrin “My Parents Only Named Me This Because They Hate It” Hatch apparently thinks so.

Please Orrin, we’re all on cortadas these days, and fedoras were replaced with something new we’re not allowed to talk to old people about yet. Context for this speech from today, via The Hill:

This is what you get when you Google "hipster Obama," fyi.

“President Obama has traded in the hard hat and lunch bucket category of the Democratic Party for the hipster fedora and a double skim latte,” said Hatch as he argued against the president’s energy policy, which has delayed the construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline and limited and delayed the exploration and production of some domestic energy. ”The president is putting the preferred lifestyle policies of wealthy urbanites ahead of the needs of blue-collar and union workers and middle-class Americans.”

Are those wealthy hipster urbanites the same elitist ones who ride the subway and are saddled with tens of thousands in crippling student loan debt? Yeah, let’s get em! Fun fact: blue-collar workers also live in cities. Also, isn’t Santorum the one bedecked in Urban Outfitters money?
