Do your duty and foster this BK Marine’s pup

Honey needs a home

Do you love America? Or dogs? What about a specifically adorable, sweet dog named Honey whose Marine owner is shipping out to Afghanistan to fight in Operation Enduring Freedom? If your eyesight sucks, or you flinch at loud noises, there is still a way to support our troops — Honey needs a temporary home, starting this Thursday when Brooklyn-based Marine Eduardo Ortiz leaves on a one-year deployment.

Friend of Brokelyn Anna Jane Grossman reports that people who have spent time with Honey at Unleash: Brooklyn in Greenpoint lavish her with the highest praise and confirm that her name fits her character. She’s one year old, was adopted from BARC last year (when Eduardo thought he’d be staying in Brooklyn for good), and is fully housetrained.

Eduardo will cover Honey’s expenses while he’s deployed, so you just have to cover cuddle time, feeding, walks and being loved unconditionally by your charge. Look at this face! If you’d like to help this Marine and his canine companion by being Honey’s foster mom or dad, e-mail Eduardo at eduardo [at] efortiz [dot] com. And then allow the Brokelyn staff to visit. Please?
