If this sight of Smorgasburg makes you happy, why not get paid to look at it? Via Flickr’s Scoboco.

Are you one of those people who really loves the Brooklyn Flea? Like, it’s a weekend routine, can’t-stay-away, fetish for old wooden crates, make special trips to Smorgasburg for pickles kind of obsession? This is the job you’ve been waiting for: the Brooklyn Flea/Smorgasburg is looking to hire a new full-time market coordinator, which involves getting into the “full nuts and bolts of our broad range of operations,” including booking the markets, organizing special events, dealing with press (hi!) and lots of other aspects. It’s a five day a week job, but attending the markets on the weekend is expected. Like we said, this is for people who really love the Flea.

Here’s the full job description:

The Flea and Smorgasburg are seeking a new full-time employee to work with us at HQ.

The position is essentially a “Market Coordinator,” which entails getting into the the full nuts and bolts of our broad range of operations, including booking the markets, pulling together special events, dealing with press, and the myriad other aspects of our business these days. It’s a Monday to Friday job, but attending the markets every weekend is also assumed and expected.

It requires enthusiasm for the Flea, for sure. But we’re equally interested in someone with extreme organizational skills, a strong tech expertise (especially Excel), an ability to work efficiently, effectively, and autonomously under pressure, and a self-starter mentality. Only serious candidates should apply.

The salary range is $40-$45K/year. If interested, please email a cover letter and resume to info@brooklynflea.com. We apologize in advance for not being able to reply to all applicants.
