Coney Island’s already proved its worth when it comes to pasties, sparkly pants and wild pigeon men, so it goes to follow that they’re asking the rest of the city to bring their A-game to the boardwalk. The 4th annual Coney Island Talent Show is now open for registration, and organizers are looking for a whole bunch of talented kids, singers and circus freaks to turn the boardwalk into a one-day bastion of music, dance and bearded ladies. Oh, and there are some cash prizes involved.

Registration is now open for the following four categories: creative kids between the ages of 9 and 12 years old, talented teens between the ages of 13 and 17 years old, “circus freaks and sideshow geeks” and singers and dancers. When the talent show finally hits the boardwalk next month, there will be 3rd, 2nd and 1st prize winners in each category, and Best Dressed Winners, too. If the promise of fame doesn’t tempt you, fortune probably will: 1st prize winners in each category win $250 in cash and day passes to Coney Island’s amusement parks, while second prize winners win $100 and third prize winners win $50.

You can fill out a registration form online through July 8. The talent show hits town on July 27, from 3 pm to 8pm on the Boardwalk.
