Yeah, they played there, because that’s what fantastically successful indie rock bands do, is play small bar/flower shops on a Tuesday afternoon. Nora Whelan over at Ditmas Park Corner was in the neighborhood, and we are very jealous, because it looks like she had an awesome view of a band that’s big enough to play the LIBOR Barclays Center.
Food trucks are a new way of life around here. Well, maybe not that new, but they’ve certainly been an inescapable part of life in Brooklyn for awhile. And that’s great, because food should come to you. And with the weather warming up, the library knows just how to take advantage of the food truck craze: hosting one a week at their central location for a month, starting tomorrow. Welcome, to Lunchapalooza! Every Wednesday from 11:30am to 1:30pm, the central branch of the Brooklyn Public Library (10 Grand Army Plaza), will host a different food truck outside of the library. In addition to food, there’ll be storytelling for children from 11:30am to 12:15pm, followed by a musical performance from 12:30pm to 2pm for those of you without kids. But of course, all you’re worried about is the food. Makes sense.
