In recreating imagery that pieces together elements of different legends depicted in Persian miniature and the writings of Persian poets the artist questions the complexities in the stories of Iranian women.

Join artist Roya Amigh, and art historian and writer Monika Fabijanska as they discuss “In my sleep I migrate back,” on view in the main gallery until 8/27. Roya Amigh recreates imagery that pieces together elements of different legends depicted in Persian miniatures and in the writings of Persian poets Ferdowsi, Rumi, and Hafez. Using this material, she tells her own stories and those of women around her.
