WRESTLING MANIA: THE BEST OF THE WORST OF PRO WRESTLING
Nov 26, 2013 @ 8:00 pm| $6
Whatcha gonna do when WRESTLING MANIA runs wild on you, brother? Join us for this new monthly series that brings together a mix of amateur, semi-pro, and pro wrestlers to the stage alongside New York’s funniest comedians and commentators to watching and lampoon the best of the worst of 80s and 90s pro wrestling. Oh yeah!
Bobby Phobia is a sideshow performer, pro wrestling manager and commentator based in Brooklyn. His professional wrestling career highlights include getting attacked by the Notorious 187 Homicide and hit with a chair by ECW Original Balls Mahoney.
Dan St Germain was chosen as a featured comic in Variety’s annual prestigious “10 Comics To Watch” list. Time Out New York has remarked that “St. Germain has a playful, freewheeling sensibility that sends the audience tumbling through daydreams of his design.” Dan’s Comedy Central special The Half Hour hit the airwaves earlier this year, and he’s now busy developing his own show on FOX. He has appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Conan, Best Week Ever, John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show, The Electric Company, and a bunch of other basic and not-so-basic cable programs. Don’t watch his drunken racist rant on Oxygen. He was going through a rough time. He’s the creator and star of the web series Kicking Dan Out featured on My Damn Channel, is a collaborator with Above Average, and co-hosts a podcast with Sean Donnelly called My Dumb Friends, soon to be broadcast on Comedy Central Sirius. Dan’s been a guest on WTF with Marc Maron, You Made it Weird, and The Artie Lange Show. He’s starred in a SuperBowl commercial with Howard Stern, Jack Links promos for Comedy Central, and was selected by Time Out New York as having one of the best jokes about New York City (a list that included Woody Allen). Dan’s first album, Bad at the Good Times, is forthcoming from aspecialthing Records. Check out In Security, Dan’s animated web series on Comedy Central Studios.
As the guitarist and singer of the critically-acclaimed rock n’ roll trio Oxford Collapse, Mike released two albums on the Sub Pop label and toured internationally; entertaining crowds from 5 to 5000, including the occasional dog and infant. In 2012 he started the wildly popular WORST GIG EVER podcast with fellow music/comedy guy Geoff Garlock as an outlet to share terrible show stories with different guests every week. Currently a televised version of WORST GIG EVER is being produced by Bedrocket Media Ventures for YouTube’s Official Comedy channel. Mike is survived by his wife Kim and their miniature schnauzer Baptiste.
