Brooklyn’s Kyle Wall will release ‘Eyelids’, his second record under the moniker Wharfer on June 10, and will celebrate with a special free show in the backyard of Troost in Greenpoint on Sunday, June 8 at 6pm.

SPIN: “Commanding and tinged with an everlasting gloom…reminiscent of Bill Callahan”

INTERVIEW MAGAZINE: “There’s something particularly beautiful about Wharfer. Wall has created his own version of haunting, yet gorgeous folk music that is hard to ignore. It could be his deep voice—reminiscent of Leonard Cohen or Tom Waits—but it’s also the way he forms lyrics; most are streams of consciousness, which add an ethereal quality to his music.”

BUZZFEED: “One of the “24 reasons to love folk music in 2013…Kyle Wall’s growled, warbly voice immediately sets Wharfer apart from the majority of DIY folk that’s popping up even in urban centers like Brooklyn.”
