Voices of Brooklyn

Learn the stories and sounds of your neighborhood, through local storytellers, Brooklyn musicians, and interactive art!

July’s Theme: Altars as Memorials

In July, Jazz, Soul, and Funk fusion is paired with stories of heroes of Williamsburg past who are memorialized through art quilts by Smithsonian featured Quilter, Sylvia Hernandez, aka, the Brooklyn Quilt Girl. Plus interactive art to inspire connections with neighbors, all around the theme of making altars, not for sacrifice, but to stand as memorials.
