BRASS TACKS presents…
RAYA BRASS BAND & EMPEROR NORTON’S STATIONARY MARCHING BAND
Raw heat played to the room. Played to the people. It’s what this music was made to do.
– BALKAN – FUNK – JAZZ – VAUDEVILLE –
Come get your love feet ready to swoon and dance away the worst political winter we’ve known. Whether you’re single, betrothed, over it, under it– this is FOR THE LOVE OF IT. For the love of this city and all the beautiful people that don’t live at Trump tower. Bring your mothers, bring your kids. Let’s dance this out.
Bringing back the essentials of big instrumental sound – from the streets to all the way up to the 6th fl. Industry Distillery overlooking Lady Liberty and the Manhattan skyline.
Held in the Tasting Room of ICD, a working distillery of exceptional spirits, this Brass Tacks bar will be filled with love potions and spirits good enough to break your heart.
The days ahead might be dark but Dancing is an antidote to stupidity.

RAYA BRASS BAND since 2008 Raya Brass Band has energized clubs, international festivals, rooftop parties, and subway cars with its hard-driving, original brass band music. The six members of the band bring their unique voices to the group, creating a sound informed as much by their love for the fierce and seductive music of the Balkans as it is by New Orleans brass bands, punk rock, and global music. Featuring trumpet, sax, accordion, tuba, and percussion, this band wails, sweats, and shouts alongside its audience. rayabrassband.com
EMPEROR NORTON’S STATIONARY MARCHING BAND combines the rich musical history of the circus and the vagabond peoples of Europe with the raw energy of avant-garde jazz, the burning heat of funk and the irreverence and fun of todays Vaudeville for a sound that is somehow familiar yet like no other. Label them anyway you like! Call them avant world fusion, call them experimental big band, call them gypsy steamfunk, call them circus noise! They may be tough to sum up, but its easy to tell you they’ll show you a good time and theyll get a crowd dancing! www.ensmb.com
Dancing is an insurrection against tyranny.
