UrbExpo: Over, Under, & Within

May 14, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

| Free
jefferson market library

The New York Adventure Club inaugural “UrbExpo” is a pop-up art exhibit documenting Urban Explorer subculture in present day New York City.

The cold, gothic features of the infamous Jefferson Market Library, accentuated with dramatic lighting and the Philip Glass soundtrack from 1983 cult classic Koyaanisqatsi, will showcase how several prominent photographers, videographers, and painters interpret their urban surroundings.

Eleven artists, one 1870s courthouse, and three hours of exploration await. Young photographers in the show are balanced with established veterans in the field. Infiltrations, both legal and otherwise, spice up this display of iconic city images that will never be together again.

Take a moment to enjoy this creative break from the New York norm. Bring your flashlight, an open mind, and a few dollars if you want to take home a print ($40 for 1, $100 for 3). One night only.
