November 9th at 3:30pm 2016
This new investigation of The Taming of the Shrew is a barebones 60 minutes adaptation which explores the complicated process of forming a female identity in today’s world. Directed by Noa Egozi, performed by Claire Tyers and adapted by both, Shrew will have a world premiere on November 9th at 3:30pm as a part of The United Solo Festival on Theatre Row.
Being a woman, from the moment you are born the forces around you are on a mission to tame you, to teach you your place. This was true in Shakespeare’s time and unfortunately is still true today. In this adaptation, a woman embodies these forces as she takes us, using Kate’s story and Shakespeare’s language, through the journey every woman goes through in her life.
